We are currently looking for a highly skilled furniture and cabinet maker with interest in the design and making of high-end contemporary furniture for residential and commercial projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, detailing and production of drawings for manufacturing, including CNC machining using 2D and 3D CAD
- Making of furniture items following CAD drawings
- on-site fitting of furniture
Essential criteria:
- Min 2 years experience in making high-end fitted and free-standing furniture
- high attention to detail
- experience in designing and detailing contemporary furniture using CAD software (Vectorworks preferred)
- on-site fitting experience
- High level of spoken and written English, good communication and team working skills
- interest in contemporary/ Scandinavian design
- interest in sustainability, specifically sustainable design and manufacture
- high motivation, good organisational skills, ability to use own initiative and work independently and efficiently
- clean driving license
- experience in rendering software desirable
We are looking for a candidate who is interested in growing into the role of a project leader overseeing jobs from initial design to completion, including:-
- Design and presentation of bespoke contemporary, high end furniture items
- estimating costs and timescale
- overseeing the making process
- coordination of suppliers/sub-contractors
- managing and mentoring junior designers/makers
- representing the company at client meetings and trade shows
Salary subject to experience, starting from £18,000.
